Deluxe BBQ sandwich with beef bacon and cheese

Deluxe BBQ

Change up your BBQ game with this delicious combo of beef bacon, beer, and cheese.

BBQ's, Sloppy Joes, Taverns; whatever you call them we love them at our house. But sometimes it's nice to mix it up and make some different variations. This is one variation we love!

  1. In a large skillet cook the Back Forty Beef Bacon until it's almost done but not quite.
  2. Remove the bacon from the pan and leave the fat.
  3. Dice one onion and one pepper. Add the onion and pepper to the bacon pan and cook for 4-5 minutes or until softened.
  4. Add in the beef, lower the heat to medium and cook well, breaking it apart but leaving some chunks — the larger chunks will help give the sandwich stability. Cook until hamburger is browned.
  5. Add in 1/2 cup of ketchup, one 8 oz can of tomato paste, one tablespoon of Dijon mustard, one cup of your favorite beer, and 1/2 cup of beef broth.
  6. Add one 12 oz can of beef consomme.
  7. Stir well until the mixture becomes blended.
  8. Once blended, add in one cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Crumble cooked beef bacon and add into the beef mixture.
  9. Toast the buns, then spoon over the mixture and top with additional bacon (if desired).
