Change up your BBQ game with this delicious combo of beef bacon, beer, and cheese.
BBQ's, Sloppy Joes, Taverns; whatever you call them we love them at our house. But sometimes it's nice to mix it up and make some different variations. This is one variation we love!
- In a large skillet cook the Back Forty Beef Bacon until it's almost done but not quite.
- Remove the bacon from the pan and leave the fat.
- Dice one onion and one pepper. Add the onion and pepper to the bacon pan and cook for 4-5 minutes or until softened.
- Add in the beef, lower the heat to medium and cook well, breaking it apart but leaving some chunks — the larger chunks will help give the sandwich stability. Cook until hamburger is browned.
- Add in 1/2 cup of ketchup, one 8 oz can of tomato paste, one tablespoon of Dijon mustard, one cup of your favorite beer, and 1/2 cup of beef broth.
- Add one 12 oz can of beef consomme.
- Stir well until the mixture becomes blended.
- Once blended, add in one cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Crumble cooked beef bacon and add into the beef mixture.
- Toast the buns, then spoon over the mixture and top with additional bacon (if desired).
