Country fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy

Country Fried Steak

Looking for a quick meal idea using Cubed Steak? Add some mashed potatoes and gravy and this will be a regular in your dinnertime meal plans.

Ingredients

  • Three pounds of Back Forty Beef Cubed Steak
  • 1 1/2 cups of milk
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons of Lawry's Seasoned Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 package of Pioneer brand peppered gravy mix
  • Potatoes and your favorite mashed recipe
  1. Defrost Back Forty Beef Cubed Steak.
  2. Mix milk and eggs in one bowl.
  3. In a second bowl, mix flour, seasoned salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  4. Place meat in the milk and egg bowl, turning to coat each piece. Then place meat in the flour mix bowl, again turning to coat. Once done, place meat on a clean plate. Repeat until every piece is complete.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add a teaspoon of butter and a few sprinkles of flour. When the butter sizzles, place meat in the pan.
  6. Cook each piece of meat for about two minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. After the meat is cooked, use the remaining grease for your Pioneer gravy mix.
  8. Place cooked meat over a bed of mashed potatoes, pour some gravy on top, and enjoy!
